Born in the Dominican Republic with portuguese and dominican parents, Ines Thomas Almeida grew up in Portugal as a bilingual. She finished her Piano studies in Lisbon, before studying Biology and working as a professional actress at A Barraca Theater. Then she studied Singing and Musicology at the Évora University (Portugal), were she was twice awarded Best Student of the Year.

2003 - 2008 Graduation in Opera Singing at the Music and Drama Academy of Rostock, under Prof. Klaus Häger (Staatsoper Berlin). At their Opera Studio she sung many different roles like Orfeo in Glucks "Orfeo ed Euridice", Orsola in Wolf-Ferraris “Il Campiello” and Zia Principessa in Puccinis “Suor Angelica”. She also sung as a soloist in many concerts and recitals.

Masterclasses with Krisztina Laki, Jill Feldman, Gillah Yaron, Claudia Eder, Norman Shetler, Hanna Schwarz and Teresa Berganza.

First engagements in Berlin as Mercedès (Carmen, Bizet) and Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg (Die Weiße Dame, F. Boeildieu). In 2009 Ms. Thomas Almeida presented a Solo-Recital at Palácio Foz in Lisbon to an audience including the national and international diplomatic corps.

Winner of the International Singing Contest Schloss Rheinsberg 2008. As a contest winner she sung in many concerts and was a soloist in various opera productions.

Fellowship holder of the Yehoudi Menuhin Foundation (2003-2009) and of the Culture Ministery of Portugal (2002-2003).

In 2010, Assistant Director of many opera productions, for instance Cornelia Heger (Marc Andre „…22,13…“, Radialsystem Berlin), Michael von zur Mühlen (Lucia Ronchetti „Der Sonne entgegen“, Festival MaerzMusik, Sophiensaele Berlin) , Tassilo Tesche (G. Bizet "Carmen" Chiemgauer Opernfestival) and Florian Lutz (J. Offenbach „Hoffmanns Erzählungen“ Theater Hebbel am Ufer Berlin).

Choreographer for G. Bizet's "Carmen" at the Chiemgauer Opera Festival 2010,  and Stage Manager for the Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg. Ines Thomas Almeida is also producer of many independent contemporary opera projects in Berlin.
